Cable Beach Restoration and Breakwater Design

Coastal Engineering Consultants, Inc. (CEC) prepared the analysis and design of a segmented breakwater system accompanied by the restoration of the eroded beach. The initial tasks included assessment of several designs and alternative approaches to provide stabilization and storm protection for the shoreline of a recreational and commercial beach. Preliminary services included biological assessment, sand grain size analysis and sediment transport calculations. Final design involved breakwater design and preparation of construction plans and specifications. Services also included material assessment and cost analysis for breakwater and beach fill construction. CEC obtained governmental agency approvals and provided construction engineering and observation services.
