Coastal Engineering Consultants, Inc. was contracted by the DEP Aquatic Preserve Staff to develop a Water Quality Monitoring Plan for several parcels in the Estero Bay Aquatic Preserve. Our scope of work included the following:

Reviewed existing state and federal programs and subsequently formulated a testing protocol for evaluating both surface and groundwater quality.

Evaluated potential sites for installing monitoring wells based on accessibility, terrain, hydric patterns and environmental stability.

Reviewed field conditions and environmental resource permits of surrounding developments to justify monitoring sites and testing parameters.

Provided a location map for surface and groundwater monitoring wells throughout the parcel.

Determined costs associated with installation and operation of the monitoring sites to support future grants.
