Coastal Engineering Consultants, Inc. (CEC) provided a study of the extension of Vanderbilt Beach Road from CR 951 to Desoto Blvd., approximately ten (10) miles in length from east to west. The end result was to provide a sense of monetary impact from a real estate compensation point that encompasses both the estimated value of the potential acquisition and the potential damages to the remainder properties based on the chosen corridor. The subject corridor study begins at Collier Boulevard (CR 951) and extends easterly for approximately ten (10) miles to its terminus at Desoto Boulevard. The corridor extension of Vanderbilt Beach Road will encompass a lineal path approximately 160' to 180' in width in order to accommodate the future expansion and proposed construction of a six (6) lane divided and limited access arterial corridor to provide an ease of access to the eastern portion of the county from the outlying estate development areas to the west.
