Clam Pass Beach Park services a major beach access point on the mainland and is accessed by a tram across the boardwalk. The tram drops off the beach goers at the Park’s main structure, and utilization of the beach at this location is congested. This expansion plan includes boardwalk extensions, new restrooms, covered shade structures, elevated educational observation platform, and a new canoe/kayak landing.

The Site Management and Monitoring Plan developed for the Port Everglades Harbor Ocean Dredged Materials Disposal Site (ODMDS) placed project volume restrictions of 500,000 cubic yards until capacity modeling was completed. In 2009, the U. S Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) initiated capacity modeling for the proposed deepening and widening project at Port Everglades. Coastal Engineering Consultants (CEC) is providing environmental services and comprehensive construction administration for the Blind Pass Restoration Project. Some of the specific duties include mapping seagrasses within the dredge footprint and adjacent bay; assisting Lee County obtain FDEP Notice to Proceed; establishing survey control; and conducting the physical monitoring plan.
