Vice President of Engineering and Coastal Division Manager
As Vice President of Engineering, Mr. Poff is in responsible charge of a team of engineers, geologists, environmental scientists, marine surveyors, designers, technicians and administrative personnel. With over sixteen years of engineering experience, his management responsibilities include client coordination, project funding coordination, public education, civic group representation, marketing, proposals, contracts, and coordination among CEC's five divisions.
Mr. Poff's primary function is Coastal Division Manager, providing Project Management, Coastal Engineering Design, Civil Design, Environmental Permitting, and Marine Survey Services throughout Florida and Louisiana. These services include the Charlotte County Erosion Control Project, Sarasota/Charlotte County Beach Erosion Study, Pass Chaland to Grand Bayou Pass Marsh Restoration, Southwest Florida Waterways Management, and Matanzas Harbor Management Plan. Mr. Poff is well versed in County, State and Federal regulations governing development. He has provided funding coordination and public education services to many municipalities throughout the region.
Mr. Poff's professional career began as a Project Engineer for a Civil Engineering firm in New Jersey. His design experience includes drainage, sewage, water, road and environmental design. He also worked for an environmental law firm as a consultant on issues such as endangered species, land development, clean air, clean water, superfund clean-up, and solid and hazardous waste disposal.
His educational background includes: B.S. Civil Engineering, University of Delaware, 1988; Environmental Law, Stockton State College, New Jersey 1990 to 1991; and M.S. Civil Engineering, University of Delaware, 1993, Concentration Coastal and Ocean Engineering. Mr. Poff belongs to several professional associations, including the Association of Coastal Engineers, American Society of City Engineers, Florida Shore and Beach Preservation Association, ASBPA, and FES/FICE Inaugural Class of the Leadership Institute.
